Sara Stieve graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in May, 2013. While there, she completed a course based on technology use in the English classroom to improve literacy and student engagement.  She is just completing her first year teaching English at Rhinelander High School! This year she taught English 9, Journalistic Writing, and English in the Digital Age. Journalistic Writing and English in the Digital Age forced her out of her technology comfort zone, since the paper uses a program called InDesign, and the entire English in the Digital Age curriculum is based on exposing students to technology in a variety of mediums.  Her personal interests include reading (specifically young adult literature), being on the water through skiing, canoeing, kayaking, or reading on the pier, and improving her house with DIY projects. She will also be teaching a Broadcast Journalism class next year, so she intends to learn even more about technology through the broadcasting process. Her goal is to continuously remain up to date with the ever changing world of technology.
