Kay Coates began teaching for SDR in 2008 at NCSS and in 2010 she started at RHS as a life science instructor. She started her teaching career in 1993 at Dodgeland High School in Juneau, Wisconsin. At Dodgeland, she taught life science and health classes, as well as, serving the district's Co-Chair for the Technology Plan/committee. The first time she used a computer was in a college chemistry course, where she hit the return button at the same time the machine exploded and caught on fire!!! They claimed it was a power surge, but for many years she was positive she had done something wrong! Kay has her Bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire and her Masters in Educational Technology from Marian University. She has taught many technology training sessions/inservices, community technology courses and presented at technology conferences over the years.
